For those wishing to go straight to the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast from Brisbane Airport, it’s as easy as joining the Gateway Arterial Road at the end of Airport Drive, turn left at the Arterial Road roundabout at the end of Airport Drive to go to the Gold Coast and across the Gateway Bridge, $2.20 bridge Toll.

On the way to the Gold Coast there are many of the local South East Queensland attractions. If you are hungry, turn of at the BP Service Centre exit just past Beenleigh and head for Yatala Pies, a local institution for many years.

The Strawberry Farm at Jacobs Well for those lovely Strawberry filled Ice Creams that we all know and love, take the Jacobs Well exit from the Pacific Highway and left at the roundabout, down the hill and left at the T section at the bottom of the hill, the farm is in the shadow of the highway, you will see it as you approach the Jacobs Well turn off from the highway.

When you have filled yourself, return to the Pacific Highway, and head to the Gold Coast, you will pass all the theme parks on the way such as Dream World which will be the first on sighted on the left side at Coomera.

Next on the right is Movie World and just a bit further is Wet & Wild around the Helensvale area, you can’t miss them...

After this there is a few exits off the Highway into the Gold Coast, the first is the Labrador exit that takes you into the northern part of the Gold Coast.

It passes a large factory outlet shopping area called “Harbour Town”. Not a bad spot to spend some money, certainly cheaper than anywhere else for brand name shopping, it even has a movie cinema there for hubby and the kids whilst mother is in her shopping frenzy.

The next exits take you into various parts of the strip such as Southport, then Nerang & Broadbeach, Robina is a little further which brings you out around Mermaid Beach and Burleigh Heads.

If you stayed on the Pacific Highway or Motorway after here, it will take you straight into Coolangatta and Tweed Heads and Coolangatta Airport.
